The federal financial aid programs available at SLCHC
include the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Grant, Federal Stafford Loan, and Federal Plus Loan. Assistance is also available to qualified students from programs such as Veterans Benefits (VA), Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and Vocational Rehabilitation (VR). Contact your local office for more information. We also have merit based scholarships available. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for an application
FEDERAL PELL GRANT
The Federal Pell Grant program is funded through appropriations by the U.S. Department of Education. New appropriations are made each year and the amount of student awards may change from year to year. Through the Federal Pell Grant Programs, grants are made for eligible students.
Eligibility is sought by using an application provided by the College. This application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov), is used by the schools to determine eligibility. Ask for your FAFSA
today! Use our school code (016848) to expedite your
financial aid process. It takes about 10 minutes to
complete.
STUDENT LOAN
Student loans are available to qualifying students attending SLCHC. These loans can include the Federal Stafford Loans, the Federal Plus Loan and the Sallie Mae Career Training Loan. Other loans are available through agencies not associated with the school. Check out the St. Louis Scholarship Foundation for interest free student loans at 314-725-7990.
To be eligible for the Stafford and Plus loans the student's financial need must be evaluated. Your eligibility for the Pell Grant must be determined first. You must also be officially accepted by the College. You will complete necessary paperwork with your
Career Advisor and then meet with a financial aid representative.
